I disagree, its not illegal here for an MTX to have a remote starter.

it's more of a liability with the shops installing it on a MTX since majority of the people I know leave the car in 1st or reverse in the eventthe E brake gave out. Does the 6 have a neutral start switch or clutch in required to start it?

dream weave let me know cause if it's plug and play i'm getting it!

install update:

got it all wired in, and still can't get it to work. wiring it in was not the difficulty, I had it done in a couple hours. There are a number of tough spots on the install.

1)steering column. first wiring to do, remove the steering coumn plastic. there's a y connector for the large harness on the left hand side. It takes alot of shifting around in there to get it close enough for the plastic to go back on, still didn't fit right,

2)Factory alarm removal. Small box located on right side of center console. Was supposed to remove the harness, tap into one wire, and leave the harness unplugged. It was a push button harness that didn't want to release, after 10 minutes of tryin to release it, I just pulled and removed the box, don't need it after the install anyways.

3)Power Door Lock Controll) box is located up on the passenger side, up and to the right of the glove box, had to use a screw driver to pop out the harnesses, tap into 2 wires on one harness, plug it back in, and then plug in another y connector.

I have plenty of experience wiring in stereos, this is my first new car and was taking my time, and just can't get the car to accept the new transmitters. I have it wired in completely, and have issues with the alarm going off at. I unplugged the harnesses until I take it to the dealer on thursday for them to finish it, I had to undo the y harness so I could start the car to use until then.

Conclusion) Easy to wire in, just couldn't get it to work, spent a couple hours today trying to troubleshoot it. The instructions have no troubleshooting instructions. Make sure you have a full day to install this if you try this on your own, I'll be putting some pics on my sounddomain page to show some of the wiring.

there is batteries in the key fob, on the first try I could get it to unlock the doors and pop the trunk, but that was it.

I used the directions in the install instructions to program in the key fobs, it seemed rather odd to me. I had to have a key in and in the "run" position when I hooked the negative back up, then had to switch to off, then start the car and shut it down. ran into a problem sometimes because it wouldn't turn over, didn't even try. after you get it to start you are supposed to do a two key procedure, this plans the immobilizer interface.
1. Insert key one, turn to run until the security light comes on
2. Within five seconds, repeat with key two
3. Within five seconds, press the lock button then the start button, you should get a confirmation chirp and a parkling light flash, and then start the car.

I'll give it another try tomorrow before I say f it and have the dealer finish it.
