This might be a stupid question but I looked every where on here and couldn't find my answer. Do all 6's have day-time running lights because my manual talks about them and the paper work says it has auto head light turn off. If they all are equipped then I need to check fuses and relays but if not is there a fuse or relay to buy so you have them?

They are actually 2 seperate things. Day time running lights, DRLs, are only in non-usa sold 6m example - Canada. The auto head light turn off is just that. If you leave your headlights on by accident, they will turn off after a set amount of time, I think 30 seconds. Not sure on what it would take to make the DRLs work for the 6 sold inf the US.

There is a mod listed somewhere here that allows you to turn your integrated fog lights (if you have them) into DRL's. Involves some work in the fuse box and whatnot if I recall correctly.

We're going to give a shot wiring the park lights to be the DRLs instead of the Low Beams on Monday.

let you know how it goes.

Personally, I hate daytime running lights. All GM products have them and you cannot turn them off.

They are an option on newer Toyotas, and at least Toyota give you the option to turn them off. I like the Mazda6 "angel eyes" parking lights because they can do dual-duty as DRLs and parking lights that I can turn on/off when I choose.

yeah okay it was a bitch this morning. Can disable the things no problem. But to run the park lights without it screwing with the dash lights and such needs them to run directly from the bulbs. We just disabled them for now. When I get the HIDs in we'll run the parking lights for DRLs.

I'm with mazda6guy on this one. I hate DRL's too! Why would you want them? I mean, if you're in a situation where you need to turn on your headlights in the daytime, how hard is that? Why would you want your car to have them on automatically ALL THE TIME? Now, I will turn my headlights on in daytime if:

1) I'm on a two-lane road.
2) It's raining.
3) In a tunnel.

And that's about it. I had a Saturn LS that had daytime running lights and I pulled the fuse out b/c I hated them, but it caused the left side high-beam to quit working (Stupid Saturns!). If Mazda starts putting DRLs in the US cars, this will be my last Mazda.

There is a supposed to be a safety / visibility improvement which is why most states mandate that motorcycles drive with head lights always on. Most DRLs run the regular lights at like 1/2 voltage to preserve the life of the bulb. I wouldn't mind DRLs, I just don't want my dash lighting changed during the day. I seem to remember a fuse box relay and a few wiring changes needed to provide 'real' DRLs on the 6.

DRL's are NOT for you (the driver of the vehicle) to see better. It is so that other drivers can see YOU. It is a safety consideration and has been a requirement for all new cars sold in Canada since 1997 I believe. DRL's for vehicles are usually dimmer that the regular low beams or are a marker light.
