Installation of HID Kit

Hey guys, I recently purchased my HID kit from Xenondepot and I will be receiving it in several days. Ive been going through past threads about installation of HIDs but only got a few good installation write-ups with pictures. I was just wondering if theres any other tips I need to know when installing.

Was it easier to install with the front bumper off? Is taking the bumper off necessary? Where did you put the ballasts? Where did you put the grounding wires?

Im sure all of this has been answered before, but I tried my best to find all the answers with the search tool. Thanks again for your help guys!

if youve looked at your lights , you should know for yourself if you want to take the bumber off or not. its your preference. if you have any type of ohmmeter , you could find a good ground. you could even get a lightbulb from a flashlight and attach a wire to the positive post of the battery and then with the ground side of the wire coming from the lightbulb, touch differenct points of a possible ground and if the light turns on, its a good ground. be sure the light is pretty bright though, because it could be a bad ground or not a grounding point at all maybe just slightly connected to ground and then the light will be dim.

I really do not know what additional information you need. I assume if you searched for HID installations you already found my write-up:

Along with others. I have installed 2 Brightstar 8000K HID kits in my car by now, both were pretty straight forward. I have not got around to posting pics of my second set of ballasts and igniters. I mounted them under the Airbox on the driver's side, and under the ABS block on the passenger side.

As has been mentioned in most of the HID posts, you do not have to remove the bumper.
