Sirius Radio Installed

I have a Sirius unit installed on my 6s, however, it is saying "Aquiring Info" every couple of minutes. I've had it for a month and that damn sound signal cuts in and out. What should I do. I replaced the antenna and still does the same thing. I am going to take it back into HiFi Buys, but if they don't get it working then I am just going to remove the whole thing. Any thoughts...

I'm not sure about the problem...but I'd love to hear where you put it and how it looks...also are you using a tape adapter, or what?

it sounds as though you have a weak ground. I had the same problem in my truck. Found out that the ground was weak on thecab floor. It was installed at a best buy in town and did a poor job. anyways, check your ground or take it back to where it was installed.

Since when do you have to ground a Sirius radio to the car?

I would make sure you have placed the antennae in a good spot. The Satellite radios have a 4-5 second buffering delay to help for things like going under bridges and losing the signal. It's able to recapture the signal again and recoup the sound to make it seamless. Think of it like anti-skip protection on portable CD players. Just sounds like it's dropping the signal for more than 4-5 seconds and has to rebuild everything.

Where is the antennae located in the car? inside or outside?

If it's on the outside, the best location is on the roof of the car, and not the trunk...I had to move mine there because of some blackouts...and that helped it 100%

i had a FM modulator in my last car, and i never had one single problem... you wouldnt get the whole "digital" thing, and I noticed a difference when i went to a HU with the connector for it... but by no mean does it suck that bad... :P and I dont see how the FM modulator wouldnt have ANYTHING to do with the thing losing signal....
