climate control gone crazy...

winter season is here and i've been changing the cabin temperature alot. now when i have the vents open, it smells like rotten eggs. it really bad.

when i first got the car, my car smelled really bad when i switch from a/c to fan and vice versa and i know its because of the condensation. it doesn't smell that bad anymore but now its the heater now.

do i just have to break the car in? anybody else experience this?

Time to visit the dealer for diagnosis and repair, if necessary.

Mold and/or bacteria, growing in water, which accumulates under the air exchanger, cause the odor. This usually occurs when the air conditioner is run as a “closed loop” rather than mixing in fresh air. To fix the problem, the dealer drops the cover of the air exchanger and cleans out the standing water and mold. Then sprays the air fins with detergent and clear water. Next an anti-mold/disinfectant spray is applied to all surfaces and the unit is buttoned up. The process is usually effective.
