Had my driver side lowbeam go out last night. I put all of the stock bulbs back in, including the parking lamps.

Well I had a warranty swap of both low beam silverstars h1 bulbs a month back....well guess what happened again!?!?! The damn left side buld died.:rant The filament broke on the bulb. Two things could cause that....1.) HEAT and 2.) vibrations or POTHOLES!

I think I'm done with silverstar bulbs! What are other good h1 bulbs out there?

$132.69USD...

Replace them two more times, and you could have gotten HID's.

eBay has the PIAA Xtreme H1's for $55. They are the 55w that put out 110w supposedly.

Not a bad price though for PIAAs.

One question though. Even the Silverstars are brighter and whiter they don't illuminate the road better than the stock bulbs. Also, the stocker's light is yellow so it provides more contrast at night, but that's just me.

Anybody else notice this? Maybe I'll try the PIAAs too. I'ver heard they are the best bulbs to mimic HID. They Xtremes put out 4000k of light.

Greg, aren't HID converters illegal in the States now? Where can you by them? Ebay?

I just joined the my-SilverStar-burned-out club tonight. It lasted for 4 months. I already emailed Sylvania. We'll see what happens.
