All the fake HID Xenon burn fast. Silvestar or Fusoin or whatever, it all the same crappy shit. But I got my real conversoin kit today:p :P :P , going to install on thursday, hope they last more then a month:sarc :sarc :sarc !

Anyways, these fake light look beautifull, but actually light less the road, and keep on burning...I gave up on then long time ago....

Well, I lost one low beam after about 3 months...

Unfortunately, it may not be a defect. If you sift through the FAQs on Sylvania's site, you find that the life expectancy for a Silverstar is "up to" 1 year, depending on use, driving conditions, blah blah blah... 1 month may be a little extreme though...

So the sad fact is the things just aren't expected to last very long, period. I contacted Eric at Liteswap, and he affirmed that they're just not meant to live very long, partly due to a trade off of life for performance...

He also told me if you email Sylvania they may oblige you with a replacement...

My one bulb just burned out, as I posted in the other thread - in just about a month and a few days of usage. I KNOW I didn't touch that bulb, either. Don't they say, anyway, that touching it will result in it exploding?

Anyway, I find it very odd that both lights on your cars would burn out at the same time. Maybe it's a fuse thing? It's strange, though... my nephew had aftermarkets (dunno which ones, but not Silverstars) on his Civic and one night *poof*, both gone. It makes no sense. For that reason, I had guessed it was a fuse or something but once he put the stock bulbs back in, it was fine.

I switched out BOTH my Silverstars with a backup set, just to be safe and I will keep a keen eye out now. If these go prematurely, I am done with them. :rant

I thought it was strange that both my H1's went out too... that day that i saw my last H1 die i did go out and check my fuses. they were all fine. both left and right. so tomorrow i'm getting my stock one's put back in... havent had time all this week... driving with fogs is what i've been doing and it's been ok so far since all the roads i take home are very well lit roads anyway... well when i get those silvers out, i'll tell ya what i see...

And this is why aftermarket bulbs are a waste of money. Just save it up and get a true uncoated HID conversion.

I have a friend who works for Autozone, and they sell the silver stars. I asked him what he had heard considering what you guys have said about them going out. He had not heard anything till a few days ago he told me to not get them because he had just done a warranty trade out on a set, and the set was only 6 months old. So apperntly they do have a problem.

I put a set of silverstars in my wife's 2002 Explorer about a year ago. They've worked just fine. Who knows, maybe the H1, being relatively new in the silverstar line up, is simply bad...

well after about 3 months my passenger light went out. Guess I'll contact Sylvania and see if they will replace it.
