Horn? Fuse?

My horn isn't working. I opened up the user's manual to find which fuse is in line for the horn...

Nothing is listed. Is the horn on with something else? What fuse is it?

I found it. I was driving to work behind my wife this morning and noticed she had no brake lights. Sure enough, the brake lights and horn are on the same fuse.

For future reference; if your horn blows a fuse it's the 15A under the hood for brake lights.

I believe the 15A refers to how many amps the fuse can handle, but if its the only 15 amp fuse, then its ok to call it that :) If you blew the fuse, you want to get the vheicle checked, because thats not normally something that should happen. You have have a short somewhere.

:? 15A; yes it's a 15 AMP fuse. Not the only 15 AMP fuse, but it is the only 15 AMP fuse designated for brake lights.

I don't think there's any need to get it checked yet. Leaning on the brakes and the horn at the same time puts maximum draw on the circuit. Kind of like when you run your toaster, coffee maker and microwave all at the same time and blow a fuse. I'm hoping the load was a fluke and won't happen every time the brakes and horn work together.

Weird stuff, Doc. I can't recall any fuses blowing on any of my cars in the last decade, so this is a shocker to me. As you say, let's hope it was a fluke.
