I got my car back yesterday, and it seems to be working fine. The mechanic gave a pretty detailed report of what happened.

If Mazda engineers finished off the top end, then that would explain the significant increase in HP over the FoMoCo engines.

I'd love to see what Mazda could do the 5.4L cammer V8, Mazdaspeed 6 anyone?

Or maybe a really sick version of the GT40? *Of course, that's Ford's Flagship, but I can dream, can't I?[/b]
The 3.0 Vulcan and the current duratech 3.0 have very little in common (xcept displacement) Vulcan is a pushrod motor (not dohc) thats been around forever
I dont really know the differences between the PZEV (focus 2.3), Duratech 2.3 (b2300), and Mazda's version of the 2.3 for the 6, but I do believe they are all related somehow.

Wasnt the pinto's 2.3 a lima block? (also nothing in common with the duratech except displacement) Yeah what a crappy motor that was, it could only take what? 300 hp in turbo apps on stock internals? Sheesh what a pile
