Defrost without AC

Bonjour tous,

I have a 6i (mt) and I love it. However, I hate the AC system.
I do not like to use the AC when it is not necessary (read very hot) because it takes a lot (and I mean a lot) of power / responsiveness on the 6i. However, it is impossible to remove any fog on a 6 windshield without AC because the AC comes on as soon as you put the control on defrost. Therefore, you can't blow non AC air on the windshield even if the AC button is off (and for some stange reasons, the 6 seems to have much more fog on the windshield than my previous cars).

I know it is normal... but I still hate it.
Any trick to solve my problem?
Is it possible to blow some non AC air on a 6 windshield to remove the fog?

Merci...GUY

Yeh,

Simple, set your vent position to screen & footwell, and your temp to Low, and it will clear in warm damp conditions.

The reason Aircon kicks in with the defrost frobnt screen button is simple ! - It needs to clear the screen damn fast, and the best way to do this is with A/C.

Try clearing your screen quickly in a car with NO A/C in warm damp conditions, almost impossible without windows open !!!

Hope this helps !!!:D :D :D :D

Bonjour Spoiledsilver,

I tried your suggestion but the AC also comes on at that position. According to the manual, the AC comes on at both positions (4 and 5 on the knob).

I hate that system because the 6 has more fog / moisture on the windshield that any other car i owned before.

My F-150 had the same problem - compressor running in all but two of the vent positions. I solved it by adding an addional switch in the circuit that activates the compressor clutch. Now I can have air out of any vent I want (even recirculate) w/o running a/c.
