purple may be really dark....i would still like to be able to utilize the lights. They definitely do sell purple. I was actually considering a blacklight type bulb but that would comletely eliminate the chance of utilizing the bulb. Decisions decisions.

haha....so get this...i decided to email my local state authorities...and this is what they responded...this is in reference to both the front parking lights and the interior colors:

"Parking lamps are not required on vehicles; however, if they are installed
on the vehicle when it is submitted for inspection, they must be working
properly. Parking lamps are required to have be either white or amber on
the front of the vehicle. You would not be able to change them to blue.
Blue lights are designated in the Code of Virginia for use by law
enforcement personnel only. If you choose to remove the parking lamps, you
must take the bulb, socket, and wiring out, and the vehicle will pass
inspection.

Regarding interior lights, the only regulation we can find that deals with
these lights states that interior lights can not be more than 15
candlepower. There is no reference in there as to what color they may be."

so my question now is, what exactly is 15 candlepower? is that equivalent to a 5W bulb which is in the 6? So can i just get a 5W bulb?

Candlepower is a brightness indicator and can be converted to lumens.

Wattage is a heat indicator - watts does not tell you how bright hte bulb is, just like it doesn't tell you how loud a speaker is. It only tells you how much heat the bulb puts out. That is why 35w HID bulbs are brighter than 55w Halogens.
