2nd Gen Non-Nav Bose Head Unit

My particular unit has the worst reception for an in car, premium head unit, I've ever heard. Local stations that every other car I've owned (premium or non premium stereo) were able to receive loud and clear are staticy beyond belief. Speaker quality is so so with radio reception (when it works) but excellent through the Bluetooth.

Recommendations on an upgrade would be appreciated.

2009 - 2013 model? I had a 2009. I've never had issues with the radio reception. But, at one point it did get horrible. Look at the top of the rear window where the headliner meets the glass. In about the middle, there should be a connector that comes out of the head liner and connects to the glass. Mine was disconnected. I must have bumped it when cleaning the glass.
