Recommendation to upgrade bass (sub, better speakers etc.)

Hi. I have a 2017 GT with the Bose system, and I'd like more bass, particularly for electronic music.

The easiest thing seems to add a subwoofer. I received a quote from a local Best Buy for a 10" Kicker brand sub, enclosure, wiring kit, amplifier etc. With parts and installation it was over $700. This seemed expensive to me. Is this a reasonable price?

Is there another (Minneapolis, MN area) place to go for audio system installs? I'm not interested in doing it myself, and would like to have at least a 1 year warranty.

What are my options if I only want to spend max $300? Upgrade particular speakers or upgrade power/amp? I would like to keep everything else as is from the factory (head unit, etc.).

Thanks!

break it down by parts and labor

how much for what kind of components.

you can see if the prices for the components are fair by checking on Amazon and labor think about how long it would take you and then check their labor against it.

If you want more bass but nothing crazy loud, I don't know how bose bass is but I have non bose and got this Kicker HS8, it's a hideaway 8" sub that fits under the passenger seat, and it's awesome, just got it installed the other day and it doesn't require an amp because it's built in the enclosure, the unit is $227 on amazon, got installed at best buy for $99. This thing is tiny but it definitely hits, clean and tight after you tune it. If your looking for loud, shake the car hear me coming from a mile away bass then this is not it. It doesn't get the really low notes but it's very impressive for this little thing, I was shocked what this thing puts out. Check my thread out there's pictures of it installed

Here it is on amazon

If you want something louder go with the Rockford Fosgate p300-10 and they also have a 12" p300-12, this is also powered so no amps requires and it's under $200, @mach1219 is running the p300-12 and he's happy with it, you can run all these with the factory system, any of these will be perfect for what your looking for, hope that helps

Those are great options. By buying ahead of time, something that already has an enclosure and doesn't need an amp, I can reduce the costs a lot by hiring someone just for the installation part. Thanks!

Does the Rockford Fosgate p300-10 fit under the seat?

For the Kicker option, did you secure it to the floor somehow? I guess if it wasn't secured somehow, I'd be worried about it sliding or moving around in aggressive cornering etc. Sometimes I have to leave the Target parking lot....really fast.

No mines not strapped down or screw down but it's very secure. it fits so perfectly it won't move, plus I put my floor Matt right against it and it doesn't move at all, even when I drive really aggressive. But it comes with straps you can screw down, but the fit is so tight it probably won't work under the passenger seat. and no the Rockford p300 does not fit under the passenger seat.

Great. I ended up going with the Rockford P-300, on sale on Amazon currently for $180. I found a local installer (Minneapolis, MN) area who will install it for $125 + $29 for wiring. The installer has good reviews and offers a 1 year warranty on the labor. Looking forward to hearing it!
