Shudder with acceleration

Just bought second hand mazda6 2004 manual.
Drives great, but occasionally get shudders when accelerating (usually in 3rd gear)
Have I bought a Lemmon?
Please tell me it's an inexpensive fix.

Could be a wide variety of things. Start with simple things like checking spark plugs, air filter, maybe air leak somewhere. Could also be fuel filter/pump.

Thanks, taking it back to mechanic, who done the roadworthy, this Monday.
He said if it's connected to something that should have been picked up then, he'll fix it - No charge.

Ill keep my fingers crossed.
