Mazda 6 Won't start 2007!

Hi there - got a Mazda 6 which I love, really been good so far but last night after washing the car it went bizarre!

Started it and it clunked into gear as the whole dash lit up - turned it around and parked it for a moment to let it settle down as the steering felt very heavy.

Wouldn't start again.

Tried the spare key - started, same thing, heavy steering and all lit up so parked again and since it hasn't started.

Had an RACV guy out and he's diagnosis was the BCM module - reckons it's given up and needs reprogramming. So had it towed to the local Mazda dealership where they say they're struggling to even get codes out of it and can't even get it started as yet either - and it's been there for a good 4-5 hours of them looking it over?

Seems strange that it seems to have kicked in after a few days of rain and washing the car, but would a BCM make the steering heavy etc? Immobiliser lights were on and the all electrics seemed to be turning on but the only electrics that seemed to have issue where the indicator lights which seemed sluggish and unresponsive inside the car - but worked perfectly fine outside the car?!

How did this end up? Sounds like a garden variety case of water contamination in the electronics, maybe through hosing out the engine bay or something that has allowed water to get in?
Interesting to know ...
