Not sure if there is an official one, but this was the one I posted before:

Yeah I've had no problems since the re-program either.

I had this as well. Kind of wish Mazda were more proactive about it, as it is a power loss situation. I was just in for the oil change service in January and feel it could have been averted.

After an easy semi-mountian climb and descent. Stopped to wait for a motorcycle who ran off the road. After they let traffic start again, I was revving but not moving. Fortunately still downhill. Pulled over. Shut down. Restarted. Still had the CEL, AT and traction control lights, but it engaged the transmission. At the next light I couldn't pull away. Rolled into a station and got towed. Yay Uber. Boo Mazda.

Happy it was a quick fix. Reprogram. All is fine. I do wonder what distinguishes those who experience the issue from those who didn't. I let my battery die once. Wonder if that set me up for this.

Glad you got it fixed, and Mazda should definitely put out a letter or something to owners so they at least know what the issue is and how to get it fixed. My battery has never died, so we still don't know what triggers the issue exactly. I did kick down on the pedal a few times in a short amount of time which I felt was my cause. I'm not sure if you did the same? Could be that the transmission sensors were thrown off because of that.

I have kicked down dozens of times and sometimes in short bursts, it did not cause any problems. I had a similar transmission issue without codes (I wrote about it earlier in this thread) but was a for a different reason.

Hopefully they figure out the origin at least. It sucks that this is happening. I've told a few people who also own a 3rd Gen about the issue so that they're aware of it.

I appreciate this thread. Just had this exact problem happen to my 2015 with 31k miles. I'm REALLY pissed this wasn't an official recall, or wasn't recommended as something to proactively do at a previous service appointment, as the manual plainly states you shouldn't drive at ALL with the AT light on. Anyway, glad to hear that the reprogramming seems to work as there's not much discussion about this problem online.

Glad to help. It's something that could put someone in danger, and it should be known. Good thing the fix isn't hard if there's a dealership/service center nearby.

Actually, this happened to me as well, but stupid me I cleared the code before going to the dealer, so they could not diagnose. However, it may just be a re program fix, and or there is a problem with a oil pressure sensor that is out of tolerance inside the transmission. They made a note on their computers and told me to come back if the problem happens again, and they will have to replace the sensor.
