It may only be 1A and had been 500ma with the old version. Either way the speed is at least adequate.
Found another source that claims its 2.1A so that probably is the case.
So for the OP, you chould install a permanent DC charging adapter to the 12.5v line of the car for somewhat cheap and a little bit of work, but installing the retrofit kit if you have a 2016 or newer is the cleanest way to do it with the bonus of gaining AA/CP; though the kit is 150 bucks with an additional 150 to 350 if you have a dealer install it.
