Yeah, it just needs an intensity setting that helps with visibility when using polarized glasses.

Polarized lenses create this problem with several different types of screens. It's not just the Mazda HU display they (polarized lenses) create problems with.

Totally love the HUD on my ‘18 6 GTR! Visibility is fine with polarized sunglasses, just need to slightly tilt my head in certain lighting when I want to check it. I’m finding that I’m doing a much better job obeying the speed limit with this HUD which is good while driving a bright red car!
ocramida and GTEyes like this.

It also depends on the type of polarization. Not all are created the same.

Having worn polarized and tinted glasses every day over the past 3 years (have both a pair of prescription sunglasses and also self-tinting prescription lenses which are also polarized), the only time the displays have had the tell-tale issues of polarization was when wearing cheap-o $25 Amazon sunglasses when misplacing the prescription pair.

9 cars and 2 parking spots, this doesn't make any sense.

Both pairs of my polarized sunglasses work with the HUDD in my 6. I do find it dims it a little but I can still clearly see it.

I can see the HUD with my polarized sunglasses a lot of the time, but in certain lighting, it's faded and requires the perfect angle to see it well. It's OK, though. Vision through polarized lenses is terrific, so it's an acceptable tradeoff.

I didn't even know HUD was a thing until less than a year ago. When I first saw it in a car I was test driving, I couldn't see why I'd ever care about it one way or the other. I even found it to be annoying because the display for the car I was driving didn't "float" on the windshield like the 6's does, it was on a plexiglass-like panel that sat on the dash. Now that I have the HUD on my 6, I love it, and use it constantly. It's really a valuable feature, particularly for the blind spot information.
