Forces the system to restart and should get your screen up and running again.

It's happened to me twice. Ever since then, I've held down the starter button for at 1-1.5 seconds when turning on the accessories or starting the car, and it hasn't happened since. I'm not sure if that's the actual solution, but it's worked so far for me...

Yup. Same thing. It's happened maybe 4 or 5 times over the course of 10k miles on the car now.

I had one instance where the car started, infotainment came on, but none of the cameras works (reverse, 360), Heads-up display wasn't on, and a whole bunch of options weren't available in the menus. Powered off and powered on and it was all better.

I did have Apple Carplay/Android Auto installed, as such I am running V70 and this did happen earlier this week. So I'm not certain infotainment version updates are fixing this. Seems like just a wonky bug. Annoying for sure, but fortunately it's fixed with a quick restart.

I'll have to try that, when I start it up I've been in the habit of pressing and then quickly releasing the starter button.

How do you guys know this stuff? Or is it something I should've read in the manual?

Internet.

This is my second vehicle with the Mazda Connect system. I found out about the reset procedure on a Mazda3 forum when my system was goofing up and needed to be reset.

I can't thank you enough for sharing this simple process which seems to be working like a charm for me.

I was previously only depressing the start button momentarily to start the engine and there would often be a delay until the screen came up and several times it didn't. Now I just keep the start button depressed when starting for a second or so until the screen comes up with my 360 display, and it initiates more quickly and consistently. Not sure how you came up with this solution but at least so far it has eliminated the issue on my Signature, and that had been the only 'problem' I've encountered to this point on my vehicle.

No problem! Again, I'm not sure it's THE solution for the problem, but I've learned over the years, especially with cars, computers, and other electronic equipment, that being slower and deliberate with controls, rather than quick and careless, will help you achieve a better result with a lower chance of error.

Again, it's only in my experience. Yours may vary...

Well apparently I jumped the gun a bit with my optimism... My screen failed to come up this morning even after holding the start button for several seconds. So I executed the simple reset procedure detailed in this earlier post and it worked perfectly. Actually when the screen initially failed to come up when I started the engine, I noticed that there was a faint image very dimly displayed so that you couldn't really see what was on the screen. After the reinitialization process it came up perfectly, so that seems like a reasonable fall back that avoids having to shutoff and restart the engine.
