Found it... 11,7 inches equals 297 mm.
Still interesting, that in Europe a 150 HP diesel, so a 100 HP less powerful engine gets bigger brakes, same size like a cx-9 turbo (not available here).
A swap to bigger rotors and other calipers seems like a no-brainer. Not that smaller brakes would not work just fine, it is more of an optical aspect, when one has 19+ sized wheels.
