True, but Mazda incentives in my area are basically identical to what they offered last year when I bought my 2017 Touring.

yeah, I don't mind waiting till year end.

I just wanted to know what were the biggest discounts people were getting.

I'm only looking to buy the stripper model, so I imagine that is much lower demand.

before this, I was only familiar with toyotas.
And even looking at Truecar.com is misleading. They list invoice price at 93.7% of msrp.
Just a 6.3% discount. However, people get 12+% discounts all the time. So relying on this data would get you ripped off.

I was dealing for the only blue signature on the west coast at the time so I had very little leverage. I got about 3% and a max trade so it was an ok deal, but far from a steal.

I am a USAA member. They offer some kind of no-haggle price guarantee with participating dealers through TrueCar. My dealer was a participating dealer. I basically looked up the car I wanted and the dealer honored the price.

Discount

I got a 6.5% discount on my 2018 Signature. MSRP was $35,840, I paid $33,500.

it's probably easier to get a bigger discount in Socal.
I have 13 mazda dealers within driving distance of me.

Just bought my 2018 Mazda6 Signature two weeks ago. Sorry I don't feel comfortable revealing my actual price paid, but put it this way, the price before docs and taxes was the lowest bar on the TrueCar.com distribution curve. It took me a week of negotiation over email and then another 3 hours at the dealer.

Tips that worked for me were:

- Always be polite
- Be unemotional
- Do your homework, there are plenty of websites that show invoice pricing
- Be prepared to walk away [I literally got up and walked out the door twice before we settled on the price]
- Work with internet sales manager not one of the floor salesman
- Ask to speak directly with the floor manager when negotiations stall
- Negotiate when Mazda has manufacturer incentives and combine that with a major holiday sales promotion
- Negotiate at the end of the month

Looks like the 2018 Sport gets a fatter discount. 13.5% discount.

I'm gonna throw around some 14% bids.

When you buy a brand new 2018 Mazda6 for UNDER $19k you let us know.
Maybe at end of year when 2019 is on the lot, but not anytime in the next 90 days.

And when a dealer agrees, you're gonna back out and ask for 15%...
