Yeah, that wouldn't have been pretty try to fix. Its good they totaled her. Sorry that you have to find a new car.

Good news: you get to buy a new car! And, its a good time to shop for a car. Whole lot of December/holiday/clearance sales going on now.

Good luck.

If the Radar Cruise is on, it DOES apply the brakes, why did someone post it does not except for a warning?! I drive with my cruise "on" constantly and it does breaking ALL THE TIME... All I ever do is steer unless I'm going less than 18 MPH. Sometimes when the brakes are being applied by the car, the warning will go off also!!!

If the radar cruise is engaged, then yes, it will brake the car. However, I was going from a stoplight essentially to another when the wreck happened so that wasn't the case. They were talking about the Forward Collision system not the radar cruise.

As far as dreading the car shopping, I just wasn't in the market. And I won't be getting a '17. I just accepted a new position at work where I will be moving to a salaried position and lose all my OT so this is an opportunity to trim some excess fat. However, I have stumbled on some used '16's that I might be able to make a move on. We shall see. But I do intend to stay in a 6 - just a matter of what year.

This is the first I saw of this thread and glad to hear you and your family are all okay.

With that amount of damage you're better off that they did total it. I'd have a hard time believing she'd ever drive the same after a front end collision like that.

Did you say there was that much damage at 30mph?

Glad you are safe. I agree with above, car never really feels the same to me. I went through it with my Protege years back, and it was never the same.
