If you are tech savy and fairly comfortable with linux/computer apparently you can ssh into the car.

Example

Apparently all thats needed to disable the speed toggle is this
Code:
/jci/scripts/set_lvds_speed_restriction_config.sh disable
/jci/scripts/set_speed_restriction_config.sh disable

So how does that work? Just download that code onto a USB and plug it into the USB drive in the car?

Can someone point me toward the thread about clipping a single wire on the 2014 to disable the nav lockout? I've been beating my head against the wall trying to find it.

This is the thread that I am aware of. This is for the Tom Tom nav in 2014-2015 6's.

Gonna wait a bit until it warms up. Those plastic tabs used on the trim can be pretty brittle in the cold and tend to snap off. Will report back.

I've been running with that mod in my 2014 Touring for well over a year. It works and there are no undesirable side effects. I highly recommend it for anyone with the Tom Tom system.

As stated in the other thread, I put a rocker switch in my glove box, so I can connect the wire or disconnect the wire with a flip of the switch. But honestly, I leave it disconnected 99% of the time. As long as you have some discipline to drive safely, it's not an issue.

Did the mod this morning. Less than an hour and everything seems to be working as it should.

UPDATE - The speed sensitive volume control no longer works. Not a big issue for me.
