New Injen CAI - Mazda 6 V6 3.7L

Just saw this on their FB site.

Quote:
New 2010 Mazda 6 V6 3.7L Cold air system (converts to short ram) P/N: SP6069 available in polish and laser black.
+10.37 HP
+9 TQ
EDIT: Posted pics of it installed as a CAI.

I switched it to a SRI. It took me 15 minutes to change the setup. You can do it without jacking the car up. Just turn the driver's wheel to the right, pull back the splash guard, and you have plenty of room to work. If you keep the factory intake snorkel, there is a chance it can rub the filter because the clearance is very close, so I removed the snorkel to play it safe.

Intake pipe specs:
ID = 2 7/8"
OD = 3"

They probably haven't updated their site yet. Call them with the PN and inquire.

CAIs usually aren't too hard to install, they can be wiggled up into place in about a half hour or less if you've got some "know how" experience, or a manual/instructions.

The filter sits behind the splash guard, as common with most CAI's. I like the option to run it both ways. Personally, I would keep it as a WAI. I've hydrolocked an engine before and bent a rod running a CAI here in sunny Southern California...so I am pro-WAI and don't mind losing 1 hp on my family sedan.

I'll be a spectator at IDRC this weekend at CA Speedway, so I may stop by and check it out while I am up there.

I did notice how empty the engine bay looks without all the stock intake ducting and airbox.
