I am considering a MS6 for my next car in the spring. I have been reading up on them over the past few months and have gotten somewhat familiar with them. However, I was wondering what their capabilities are. How strong are their internals? What are they rated at? How about suspension and transmission? Fuel system? What are they rated at? I know there are some aftermarket turbo kits, how effective are they? Such as the ATP kit... What kind of numbers are made with them? Track times? Amount of boost?
I looked around through search, but didn't find too much. Does anyone know where I can find some links to read up on aftermarket turbos for the MS6, and what numbers can be expected? Also, where are some sites that I can look at to see the costs of built engines and such? I hope to be a frequent guest of your forums from now on. Thanks. |

i suggest you search the mazdaspeed6 section. and when i say search i don't mean post questions that have been answered numerous times because you will just get rediculed. all the answers to your questions can be found there.

www.protegegarage.com has some fully built engines as well as other upgrades. the stock engine seems to me handling just a lil over 300whp before we experience fuel cut or other such problems. one thing that is being worked on is upgrading both the intake fuel pump and also the cam driven fuel pump, with the addition of these this should eliminate the fuel starvation that we see with the stock pumps. also if you are looking for engine management i would looked towards the cp-e ems which shortly will have a plug and play unit so you don't have to cut your ecu wires and solder anything in.

Anyways, 300 hp? Wow, I figured it would be higher, but I do recall reading that the fuel cuts are responsible for the restrictions. If the fuel system was cleaned up what is the next weakest thing? How is the engine's hp rating? |

when i say 300hp i meant to the wheels so thats a good bit at the crank. a lot of people have been having rods snap so i think that is the next weakest link. also our the rear differential mount is pretty week and prone to snapping during hard launches so some people have ghetto rigged them and strapped them. there is a topic on that in the speed6 section.
