Which would be faster, 06 Mazda 6S Atx or 06 Subaru RS Atx?

The 06 Mazda6s ATX has 215hp whereas the Subaru RS Atx has 173hp.

The Mazda6s ATX is capable of running high 15s in stock form whereas the Subaru RS ATX runs 16s. The MTX for both models are noticeable faster. If you have to have an automatic instead of the Subaru RS take a look at the Subaru WRX. If you don't have to have the automatic take a look at the MTX for both models. They will be faster and a little cheaper.

As someone who has both, the Mazda is faster. the RS has nice low end, but fizzels in the high mid to high.

i have a 04 6s and the wife a 06 2.5i impreza, both have work done on them.

My MTX ran a 14.80 1/4 mile that was with cpe intake though!

The Subaru RS ATX has a sticker of around 17k. the WRX has a sticker of around 24?, however, to get an auto in the subaru, you have to go to the limited package, which is something like 29k. I inquired about those, and in the end you end up paying around 200 a month with 0 down for an rs for 4 years, but your payment on the automatic wrx would be high 500's(I know ridiculous). Even the cheapest wrx, the Tuner ready one has a lease of high 4's, but I guess they are fast as hell, but i dont really like how they loo ktoo much especially those bicycle tires they use.

But as for the comparision,

The 6s and the rs atx are two TOTALLY diff vehicles. totally different prices one is like 23, other 17, one is a v6, other is a 4 banger. one is AWD the other is fwd. But I would say the 6s would beat the subaru by a little off the line, but the wrx will be close or even take a speed, and the STI will make mazda look like pixie dust, even though that damn wing on the STi is so damn ugly, and makes me think at 125mph the car is going to go airborne.

with chitowns turbo kit and some other shit you can easily run in the 14's with an atx now. and actually skill 007 has some nitrous on his 6s WHICH has been known to be very destructive for our cars, but it has worked for some... i guarentee with an atx with every mod [engine mount, some weight reduction stuff] performance wise and when tuning is available for turbo you could run in the high 13;s low 14's. Thats with probably around 6 grand put into your car though..

you can't really compare lease payments, though. The RS payment is subsidized by Subaru of America to get to the $200/mo price. We looked at WRX LTD's when getting our '06. The payment we were quoted (& this is the starting point...no haggling) was $400 for a 48mo/48K mile lease..with only 1st pymt down.

We decided on the regular WRX (not the TR that deletes Auto Climate, 6disc changer & replaces the body-colored mirrors with black)....& added an aftermarket moonroof. Sticker was just under $27K...our lease payment is a good deal under $400/month (for the same terms).
