You can run a search and find an ass-load of tire options...But are you looking for all-season or summer tires? Kuhmo and Falken have some decent tires for relatively cheap prices...As do Nankang and General Exclaim...It's all about what you're looking for...It's a very broad and vague statment/question that you're proposing so a real answer is nearly impossible to give.

P.S...If you're running the stock Pirelli's on an 8in wide tire then I suggest you at least go up to a 225 with the new tires since I would imagine the 215 Pirelli's were a tad bit stretched...But some folk on here like that stretched look and you may be one of them...Ride quality will certainly suffer, though.

I just bought some Falken Ziex 912's from Discounttire.com. I went with an All-season tire because I hated the way my current summer tires felt in the winter. I paid just over $500 for the set with a 3 year replacement warranty.

In a New Orleans winter, your new all-season tires will be much inferior to the new non all-season tires you did not purchase. The worst aspect of all-season tires is on wet pavement; their advantage is on light snow, which is a trade-off obtained by giving up wet traction.

Well, after reading myriads of posts, particularly by you, I was nearly set on summer tires. And then I remembered how uncomfortable my current summer tires were during my New Orleans winter. So while I appreciate your input and respect the hell out of your knowledge, I certainly didn't ask for it. This wasn't my thread asking for your thoughts on my inferior tire purchase. Rest assured I made an informed decision and whether or not you agree with it, it was my decision. It's funny how you seem to lurk around waiting to pounce on the first post that mentions purchasing all season tires. When your opinion is wanted I'll certainly seek it. And this wasn't one of those times.

So back to the OP's topic...There's a trade off on every tire. It's up to you to do your research and decide what you're willing to give up.

Yes, probably so...I chose all-season only because I hated the way my current summer tire's felt in the winter...Our winter's aren't harsh and MOST people prefer summer tires down here so that will probably be the safe way to go if you don't know much about tires...Discounttire.com was having a $50 off deal last week for online purchases so you may want to check there for some good prices and good reviews.
