I recently found 2 17's and 2 18's of Konigs of the same type at a pawn shop at a good price. I'm half tempted to buy them. I was wondering if anyone out there run 17 and 18s and if there are any pros and cons?

Hmmm... A staggered M6... I don't see why you couldn't... Long as you put the 17s in front and 18s in back- might look goofy the other way. Car isn't AWD or anything.

Don't know if you can do it but I can tell you it will look like shit. The wheel gap in the front is already huge and compared to the rear the front looks like a SUV. If you put 18's in the rear, and 17's in the front, you are going to decrease the wheel gap in the rear so you will increase the gap difference and it will look like shit. In order to make this work you would really need to drop the front and I don't know of a set of springs that would give you a minor drop in the rear and a huge drop in the front, you would need to by two sets or get coil-overs. If you were willing to spend the money on that I would say don't be a cheap ass and get a good set of rims.

as long as offset is the same for both pairs, you can run them all you want... you will run OEM tire sizes on the front 17" wheel pair, and a PLUS 1 tire size on the 18" (that means, you are going up one wheel size - from 17 to 18, so the tire will have a shorter sidewall).. when you do that, the actual diameter of the fronts and the rears will be very close to the same... if I had to guess, I'd say the fronts tires will be 215/55-17 and the rears will be 215/45-18 (those are the OEM size, I think)
as for fender gap - it will be the same as what you have with OEM 17" wheels/tires, since the overall diameter of the 17" pair and 18" pair will be almost the same wheel diameter does not dictate overall diameter, tire size does... so, make certain you have the correct tire sizes... you may have to search around for the tire sizes that come the closest to having the same overall diameter. Check the "Specs" for tires on Tirerack.com to see what's available... you may find it hard to find matching pairs that will work, so you could end up spending more for tires to go onto the different sized wheels than if you just bought all the same size wheel... Good luck - hope that helps PeteH
