ok so basically i was goin throught wendys and i ended up curben my left rear wheel pretty bad. i have black wheels and it took off alot of black paint to the point where u can see the chrome rim under the black paint, and the edges where it was curbed are very rugged if u catch my drift. so basically my question is as follows. what can i do to touch this up and make it look better again. i was thinkin maby sand down the parts that are rugged and chrome and then touch em up wit a certain paint pen or somethin. all it did was scratch up the outer lip which is black but id did a good number on it.

help!

I'd recommend repairing the curb rash (although without pix it's hard to tell how bad it is) this way:

and then painting the repaired area.

Try searching the forum...lots of ideas for painting. Hope this helps.

thats a pretty good tutorial but idk if i feel confortable primering and repainting some of my wheel. i might do the part where he fills it in with puddy and then just paint it with a paint pen. the damage is right next to my red stripe so it would be hard to use a spray can.

After you finished w/repairs, do you need to rebalance the wheel/tire? W/O balancing, do you notice excessive wear or steering wheel shakes? Thanks

I've done this...to someone elses car. The tutorial is written well and was easily followed. The only problem occurred when it came time to match the paint. The silver in the OEM wheel is difficult to match (at least what we found).

She did not get her wheel rebalanced, nor did she notice any vibrations (we repaired the front right wheel).
