i did the search and i looked at the sticky post that said what tires size you should get. i am going to by rims next week and they are size 17 inch and the offset is 45. on the post here is says size 215/50 but when i was going to make the package on wheel max it was saying to use 215/45. i can change the size myself to the 50 i just want to get the right size so they will fit and not rub without a fender roll.
thanks mike

i had to roll on a 225/40/18 with a +45 offset but i think you should be fine judging on the fact that you are buying a 215 tire.

how wide is the rim..7 or 7.5?

It's pretty clear in the sticky that 215/45R17 is not recommended:

Quote:
If you don't see a size listed here (ie 215/45R17), then it is not recommended for the US-spec 6.

i understand that it is not recommended if it is not listed but why would the website have that as the size and not the stock size.

I currently am running Avon 550 MTechs 225/45-17 on stcok 17X7 rims and have had no problems or rubbing-fenders are not rolled. Tires have been on car over 1 year (25000 miles).

Website could be wrong. But based on the members here, a lot of people ran 215/50R17 or 225/45R17 without problems.

I can't answer that for you, man. It's wrong, though.

thanks i was going to go with the 215/50 i just wanted to know if there was a reason for the 215/45 maybe because of the offset on the rims being 45 but i guess that is not the case the website is just wrong.
thank you for answering my question
