so ive decided to wait on new wheels and tires untill my current stock tires get worn. so untill then, i was wondering how much the average powder coating job on wheels costs because ill just get my stock wheels powdercoated if its cheap till i need new wheels and tires.

Ya, that's about right. Depends on the condition of the wheels too, and whether or not you want them to refinish them (fix the curb rash), or just powdercoat them. Some places require refinishing the wheels, and that'll bring up the cost. Most places around here charge $100-$150 JUST for the refinishing.
Check your yellow pages and start calling around. My buddy ended up powder coating his wheels himself, I gave him a hand. Just need an air compressor, an electrostatic gun ($100), an old oven, and the powder media. A few imperfections, but pretty damned good for a couple of guys in their garage. I'll shoot him an email and see if he'll send me some pics so I can post them. |

I was just quoted $80 a rim just a month back. But that took going in there and BSing a bit with the manager. Shop around.
