Last week I hit an ice patch and slided, then rear wheel meets curb.

My wheel is bent inward. I drive it very slowly after that, and there's some wierd rubbing sound occasionally. Brakes is fine, no shuddering/shaking while braking or driving. Of course the alignment is waaaaaay off

I brought to the shop to look at it, they told me i need a new rim.

The thing i don't get it is, if the rim is bent to one side is there possiblility the suspension parts is also messed up ??

It's something like // instead of ||

Sorry guys, first time happening to me

The mechanic who looked at my car told me he checked the suspension and axle and stuff, everything's fine. Only need to replace the rim.

*Cross fingers*

Very likely your alignment/camber is off. I got hit-n-run a few months back on the rear diver side wheel. Wheel is fine remarkably, but it was cambered and bent inwards... I jacked it up and aligned it myself, and haven't taken it to a shop since.

I will be getting my alignment early next week or maybe this week.. as soon as I finish my coilover install.

If you jack up the corner with the "bent rim" and spin the wheel, does it wobble or does it spin true? If it spins true odds are that you bent some suspension component(s) and also the rear bearings could be fubared as well. I hope it's just a rim. I had a similar situation a number of years ago with my saturn and the bearings would howl like the rim was bent but it would spin true. new wheel bearings and the sound was gone.

You could get under the car and see if their is any freeplay in any of the steering components.

Sending my car to replace the rim tomorrow...

Crossing my fingers...man I really hope the rim is the only damaged thing, cause I have to do lots of driving back and forth on Friday onwards

Didn't drive my car for 2 days (waiting for rim to arrive) as i didn't want to load excessive wear and kinda scared it'll bend something else even more.

Thanks for the advise everyone. I was hoping i can go home early and check the rear suspension parts myself...but stuck at work...grrrrr

Sorry..no pics

But on a side note, i've changed a new rim and did the alignment. Now there's a 'gronk gronk gronk' sound coming from that wheel area

Ah crap..what a holiday...most shops around my area are fully booked too, wanted them to look at the wheel bearings, then i'll probably buy online and let them fix it up if it's the bearing
My dealer will charge me an arm and a leg for it anyway.
