Anyone know if stock lug nuts work with aftermarket rims?
Specifically, MB Boost rims. If not, what do I need to get, and is there any real "good" or "bad" lug nuts out there to be noted? Thanks

Gorrila or McGard lugs for "good" lugs. 12mmx1.5 is the size you will need. Good place to start is at summitracing.com
Just use aftermarket lugs for rims...and use your stockers for winterizing when puttin back your stock wheels...thats what I do.

So I took off a stock lug and it seats perfectly in the MB Boost rim, and the wrench fits as well.
Why wouldn't these work?

I think they'll "work", they are just a bit stubby for the deeper lug holes of the boost. When I got my Boost rims they sent me a lug set. It was a Gorilla set and actually quite nice. All 5 lugs are "locks", and the pattern is on the outside, not one of those weird patterns on the top that needs a key. I'll get the part number off the box when I get home if you'd like.

so aside from being vertically challenged, the benefit of aftermarket lugs are height, looks, and more security?
The ability to hold the wheel on is identical?

As long as they "seat" properly into the holes on the boost rims, then yeah, they should be fine.

I got the Work lugs simply because I liked the way they look. They also add to the JDM factor.
![]() Alot of rim manufacturers recommend you use 'tuner' lugs (like my Works) because they 'seat' better and have a less chance or ruining the wheel. I really don't believe that though, I've seen other work wheels owners with the stock lugs.
