So, I decided to get bigger rims for my car. Got myself a set of used 18" m20 which came from a 2006 civic. So got home and installed the rims. Test drove and I started to hear this humming sound coming from the front, so I took the front rims again and re installed it only to make the sound louder. I was looking at the rims and how the fit the car and seems like it doesn't fit tight on the car. I'd say a few millemeters. I tried to center the rim which I thought might fix the problem but haven't gotten it quite right.
Has anybody had this type of problem? Also another thing i was considering as an issue was that I am using the original lug nuts and not the skinnier tuner lugs. Could that be the issue? Theres definitely no rubbing as I haven't lowered the car yet. I'd appreciate any input in the matter. Any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks.

Is the bolt pattern the same? Ours is 5 X 114.3
Also, the lug nuts may need to be different if its a tuner wheel or something... I know some have a cone shape and others are straight. Humming can also be the tires.

It is 5x114.3, center bore is a bit wider. If it is the tire, would having it balanced fix the problem? Is there anything i can do to check what the real problem is?
Thanks.
