Not sure if this was asked before but. Can the mazda 6 handle wider tires/rims? Can I put something like what a 350z has which is 245/40/18? or is that too wide for our car?

The question has been asked often.

There are a couple of useful articles on the subject at -mazda6tech.com, as well.

The key -- do not ignore it -- is -offset.- At the front, wider wheels and tires, if they have -too much- offset, will rub the upper suspension control arm. At the rear, wider wheels and tires, if they have -too little- offset, will rub the outside of the wheel well (the fender lip).

The question is, why do you want wider wheels and tires? Appearance?

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't really looking to get a wider wheel. I just saw someone selling a set with a good price. I'll look at the mazdatech info as well.
