I've a few minor scuffs on my wheels that I would like to make liik a bit better. You know, the inevitable curb scratches. I just got one tonight exactly while trying to do a three-point turn on a narrow street.

Is there there any such thing as touch-up paint for these wheels or is it basically an unfixable issue?

I don't think anything like touchup paint exists, but I'm pretty sure you can get the wheel repaired.

edit: ↓↓↓ I stand corrected

i have after market rims that i successfully cleaned up with touch up paint. go to autozone and try to match the color as close as you can - i purchased something like a paint pen for my gunmetal colored rims and it matches perfectly. fixed the curb rash really well.

The alternative is you can just wreck into someone to the point that that wheel (as well as your entire left/right side) has to be replaced. Make the insurance pay 90%!

Okay, bad joke, but that was the outcome of my accident. My one curb rash as well as the stupid dents people put in my car were fixed via my accident.

I did the same with an OEM wheel, got it curb rashed pretty bad. Some siilver touch up paint did the trick, you have go up to it really close to notice.

You think you could post the exact item# that you used? That way i'll go to AutoZone and pick up the exact bottle you guys used.

I inspected all 4 rims this morning and each has a very minor scratch or "rash". None of them are deep. But it's the worst feeling when you feel that wheel hit, even when your trying to be careful. And I am careful with my car, as far as dings nicks, scratches, etc. I guess it's just a part of normal wear and tear.

It's probably worse when they are custom powdercoated GramLights that are not even a month old..... trust me on this.............

i dont have the item#, because i wasnt repairing the oem rims. to be totally honest the selection at autozone, pep boys, and similiar stores varies widely. its just best to go in and eyeball it.

I successfully have repaired one of my wheels using this exact method:

I'm doing another rim tomorrow actually...

That's a pretty sweet write-up! Hardest part of the whole thing is finding the right paint. (for us anyway)
