Hello everyone!
I just bought a new 2007 6s GT hatchback this past Saturday and I am new to the forum. I loved our '04 3s Hatchback so much, I wanted to stick with Mazda and upsize on the new car. So far, I am enjoying the 6s (at least as much as I can while trying to be conservative during the break-in period). Anyways, I tried searching for the answer but came up empty handed. Does anybody know how much the stock 18" wheels weigh, with and without tire. I know the 16s and 17s rought weight about 21-21.5 lbs without tires. I just want know for comparison sake and to get an idea of weight comparison of future 18s if I choose to replace them with lighter ones. Thanks! Low trap time due to Cyl #6 misfire. 0-60 MPH (60.3 actually): 6.45s <-- Timed with MSD DashHawk (TCS off, D Mode, no brake torque, some wheelspin off the line). Repeatable. Time should improve with better launching and better tires. Dyno/Tune (Conservative timing adjustment) 1/26/08 ---> 182.53 HP / 172.33 TQ at the wheels (SAE format) |

If I'm bored this coming weekend, I might take a wheel off and put it on a scale. Stay tuned...

Thanks, I appreciate it. Now, are you going to weigh the 18s on your speed 6 or do you also have the OEM 18s from a standard 6 GT? I think the speed 6 wheels have been weighed before and posted, but not the 18s on the standard 6 (which are the ones I am curious about).

I don't have a standard GT 18" wheels.
But actually I'm curious about which one is heavier, the stock MS6 wheel or my wagon aftermarket 18" wheel. Whichever is lighter will go to the MS6.

I don't know how accurate my bathroom scale is, but 1 MS6 wheel (with stock tire) weigh approximately 47 lbs.

That sounds about right. How many miles are on the tires. Some tires can lose nearly 5 pounds as they wear.

well if the speed6 wheel/tire combo is 47lbs with the pzero nero then the wheel weighs 25lbs. if you have the potenza RE050's then the wheel weighs 23lbs. i forget which is stock equipment but just remember those two names around speed6 tires.
i'd be surprised if the 18x7 6s GT were anything but 23lbs.
