I see some wheels locally for sale, but they are:

17X6.5, 5 Lug, 114MM Bolt Pattern, with a +60MM Offset.

I know the Mazda 6 17" wheels fit, but I think those are 17x7. Will 17x6.5 work?

Thanks,
Ryan

Yup. I don't know why you would want an even narrower tire, but they will fit

They'd be for winter, where a narrower tire helps in snow.

You know forsure they will fit on the speed 6?

Thanks!

i wouldn't put that on there. you're taking a 3500lb car that is riding on wheels meant for a 2800lb car.

That's more along the lines I was thinking. But if it has been done before without issues, I wouldn't mind doing it.

ok, but we're not discussing the 3100-3300lb mazda6. we're discussing the 3500lb+ speed6.

Not good for the speed 6 you could end up dead. Get some good winter tires and mount em up on some steelies for your reg. 6. If not just get a set of 17's from the 6 fo the speed6.

I'm afraid I don't understand the danger of putting this wheel on a speed6. They don't make wheels any less fragile for light cars, do they (we are talking Mazda here, not Lotus BTW)? If the wheel/tire is the proper offset, bolt pattern, the tire makes up the difference in width/height from the stock rim within 3% or what ever the rule is, and carries an adequate load rating, what is there to worry about? Sure a 6.5" wheel/tire combo won't have the same grip as a 7.5", but will that one inch difference mean the fatality of the driver? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, just want more of an explanation for future use as to why that would be considered dangerous to do.
