Recently purchased 4 Goodyear GS D3 215/45/17 Made in China

Two out of the four tyres are missing the last four digits (ie batch date ) on the 12 digit manufactures code.
Has anyone noticed this on their outer tyre wall.
They reckon tyres go hard after 3 years and will lose their grip sitting on the shelf.
Is this the practice with "made in china" tyres or just a one off?

Just out of curiousity, are the tires a unidirectional pattern? Are the two with build dates mounted on the same side of the car? Probably the build dates are on the inside sidewall of the two you don't see (if they are unidirectional tread pattern).

thanks your right they are on the inside wall. However these are directional tyres.
