ive been thinking. what about getting like a 1/4 inch wheel spacer on a stock 17" rim to give it more of a wide look. is this a bad or good idea? please help

hey just a question....what is a wheel spacer and where do you get them and how much do they cost?...don't know too much about cars.

These are examples of wheel spacers:
![]() If you're going to use wheel spacers, H&R is probably the best. However, anytime you do this, there is some inherent risk of failure as you are adding an additional component to the wheel/brake assembly. However, I'm sure H&R will tell you that, when used correctly, spacers are safe.

I really think considering the large offset on our wheels stock, I'd avoid spacers. We have so little room to begin with in the wheel well, spacers take away the remaining room.
If you want a wider look, get a wider wheel with correct offset and a wider tire. That's the right way to go. |

Thanks Toyoguy....yeah some guy on the Mazda 626 website said I might need spacers to make the stock 16"s and tires work on the 2000 mazda 626...they said it might work without it but they are not sure sooo..
