I went to the tire shop today to get my cambers adjusted after getting new bridgestone tires. The shop said that the rear wheel camber can be adjusted, but the front wheel camber can't?? Is this true? Did Mazda left something out, or is there another way to adjust the front wheel camber?

Thats correct. Mazda in their infinite wisdom gave no way of adjusting front camber. The only way to get negative front camber is to lower the car.

Could you elaborate more on how lowering the car would get a negative offset? I presume a negative offset means going away from the car, that is, the lower bit of the tire sticks out.

Right, that's what negative camber means, top of the wheel going in, bottom going out. It's simply based on the geometry of the double-wishbone up front that as the suspension compresses, more negative camber is achieved. Lowering the car puts the suspension a certain distance along its travel, as if it was compressed, but the geometric result (more camber) is the same.
