i recently installed my 18x7.5 and 225/45/18 proxes4. the car feels heavy and i feel some vibration at around 60-70 after or below it seems to go away. maybe is that i feel everything with the low profile tires, instead of 16'' that i had before. moreover, i feel like the car s pulling to the right, i have to tilt my steering wheel to the left in order for the car to go straight. let me know if you have had any of such experiences when upsizing.

16" --> 18" will definitely make the car feel heavy... most definitely prominent with a 4cyl.

Double check the air pressure (32-34 psi), have the shop rebalance the tires and possibly get an alignment. Wider tires will make you feel the ruts in the road more contributing to a pulling feeling.

I recently posted about the "slight jerk" feeling especially at the end of stops.

According to everyone.... its normal for 18" low profile tires. Wheels tend to follow the road more. Guess you just have to get used to it.

As for the heaviness....

Well, I have 18" wheels, but they are 19lbs and the wheel tire combo weighs in at 40lbs (weighed them myself).

So, my 18's are relatively "lightweight".... how much do your rims weigh? If they aren't lightweight... 20+ lbs... you'll probably feel sluggish.

I've barely noticed a decrease in my performance... its there, but very slight.

my combo is exactly 44lbs, wheels 20bs and tires 24lbs. i have 16'' before which were 50lbs on the scale, so iam still saving 6lbs. when i talk about slow and heavy is the feeling of the car trying to rotate these big tires. with my 16'' i was very fast off the stop, but with the 18'' it is rather sluggish and alow. the intresting thing about the 18'' is that i pick up speed, the development of more speed comes rather quickly, to the point that i had to correct myself not hit the car in front of me. the is no doubts about the benefits, but the disadvantages are very clear as well. i wish that there were wheel/tires renting places, so people could go and rent a set and use them on their cars so they can find out the transformation on their car cars. my is totally different animal right now in comparision to when i got it 2 1/2 years ago. since i had replaced the entire suspension with the rb pkg, new brakes whihc i hate, i got rotex they are horrible, iam looking for etter brakes soon. and now the tires, but iam waiting for the turbo and let see. i will post pics ass soon as we get a nice day to wash my car in the nyc area.
