i recently installed my 18x7.5 and 225/45/18 proxes4. the car feels heavy and i feel some vibration at around 60-70 after or below it seems to go away. maybe is that i feel everything with the low profile tires, instead of 16'' that i had before. moreover, i feel like the car s pulling to the right, i have to tilt my steering wheel to the left in order for the car to go straight. let me know if you have had any of such experiences when upsizing.

Double check the air pressure (32-34 psi), have the shop rebalance the tires and possibly get an alignment. Wider tires will make you feel the ruts in the road more contributing to a pulling feeling.

I recently posted about the "slight jerk" feeling especially at the end of stops.
According to everyone.... its normal for 18" low profile tires. Wheels tend to follow the road more. Guess you just have to get used to it. As for the heaviness.... Well, I have 18" wheels, but they are 19lbs and the wheel tire combo weighs in at 40lbs (weighed them myself). So, my 18's are relatively "lightweight".... how much do your rims weigh? If they aren't lightweight... 20+ lbs... you'll probably feel sluggish. I've barely noticed a decrease in my performance... its there, but very slight. |
