I'm planning on getting some wheels for my 6 this summer, but I cant decide whether to get 17's or 18's. I have a base 6i with the 16 in. steelies/ hubcap now. The thing is that I live way out in the desert valley on my tribe's reservation. I am in an urban area right now because I'm going to school, but I go home at least once a month which is like 450 miles away plus I have to drive on dirt roads just to get get home so lowering my car is not really an option. My question is whether it is better to get 17' or 18's.

I'd go with 17's and use the stock 17 tire size of 215/50R-17 that way you still can have your style and you'll have the rubber to take the impact in case you hit a pot hole.

Ditto. If you're traveling on dirt roads, 18s may be more susceptible to punctures and are generally more expensive to replace. You can find great looking 17s (including the stock alloys) to fit the 6.
