Heres the deal. I purchased some aftermarket rims as you can see. When I put them on and drove on them, I have a nice vibration going over 40 mph. Going off that and purchasing these rims balanced, I ordered some hubcentric rings. Putting those on yesterday had no effect whatsoever. Now heres a kicker, sometimes(like once every 2 days) the vibration goes away for like 15 seconds and then comes back(extremely wierd). Before I had these rims, I had no vibration whatsoever, even goin 115MPH so I'm rulling out any steering/suspension probelms. So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do you think they were balanced wrong? Or has anyone else had this problem before. I looked on each rim and there are weights on all of them(in case they missed one). All the tires look normal too. I NEED HELP! Any suggestions??????

How long did you drive without the hubcentric rings? It's possible that the vibration warped the wheel a bit if you drove too long.

But, first off, I'd get them balanced again. I don't trust when you buy them pre-balanced. I've done that twice, and both times they weren't balanced worth a damn. It shouldn't cost you more than about $40.

Yeah I figured thats probably the reason, at least I hope it is. I'll get them rebalanced on Sunday. But if there is any more suggestions let me know.

Balancing is the likely culprit, but sometimes tires can slip a little on chrome plated wheels. It's possible the tires were balanced correctly and then after you drove on them a bit, the tires have moved from their original mounting position (due to acceleration and braking torque forces).

Take them to a tire shop and have them check each one first before rebalancing.

Leftyrev , i had the same issue as yours , one of my precious cars was a 2000 corolla , put on it some 16" , the thing is , they did the same , vibrate from like 90 or 100 km , till 120 or 130 km , i balanced them like 5 times in diff. shops! got the centric rings , did everything , went from 215/40/16 to 205/45/16 , and still that vibration , then i just couldn;t find any other thing to blame but the rims themselves , since i got them really cheap , and realized they were an exact copy of the Konig Flight. so guess the rims were so bad quality , nothing could be done!
i just say , don;t get any wheels , get some branded recognized ones , that;s all , with the right specifications , and u should be alright!!

Well come to find out, you were right. The balancing was way off(like 3.5oz) on each tire. Total idiots dont know what there doing. So A note for everyone. Double check or visually watch your wheels getting balanced. Also ensure they do both types of balancing(static and dynamic). I guess the first place only did static balancing. Hope this helps others if you had the same problem.
