I'm looking at getting some new tires to put on the stock 16's. Preferably high performance summer. The lower the price the better, but as long as I stay under $500ish total, shipped and mounted, it's not a big deal. I was probably going to get 215/55/16 or 225/55/16 because I can't find jack in the stock 205/60/16 size.
What I've seen so far is some really cheap Hankooks, Ventus Hrii H405 or Radial K106 for under $60 a tire from edgeracing. I also saw on Tirerack they gave Avon Tech M500 very high ratings, but I've never heard of them before, they were about $90 a tire. Fuzion zri also came up for about $80. Another option is some Dunlop SP Sport FM901 for $93 mounted/balanced/shipped from sams club. What would you guys reccomend? Any of those or other options under about $100 a tire? Thanks John

Keep in mind you get what you pay for. Don't expect lesser-known tires to perform like their name brand counterparts. I'm sure you have a budget, but if performance is high on your list of important attributes, don't let price be the only factor.

look for deals at your local tire shop. I got my toyo proxes 4 at a good deal. I Bought 3 and got the 4th free. With mount and balance I got them for 398.57 for 225/40 18"s.

but you also need to remember that not all of work for a tire company. the kuhmo is better than the ventus or hanook. i have autox on all three tires and the kuhmo is best. that is what brand i use for race tires also.

In the Orlando area, contact Action Gator Tire or Kaufmann Tire, or visit Toyo.com to find a dealer near you. I'm sure you'll find 215/55R16 in Proxes T1-S or Proxes 4 will fit your budget.
