how many tires to buy?

One of my tires is useless now, and I have to get it replaced

Intuition tells me I need to get 2 new tires instead of 1 new tire or 4 new tires.

I'm running Toyo Proxes 4, and they have about 26,000 miles on them. I use my car for commuting, no autoxing.

Any help is gladly appreciated.

Ideally, you should rotate your tires occasionally so they wear evenly and you replace 4 at a time.

However, if you've got front tires that are worn much more than the rears, replace the front tires and leave them in front until they're as worn as the rears, then you can rotate them to the back.

Never replace 1 tire unless the matching tire is brand new.
