Hey all… general question about wheels…

How much of a difference did any of you feel in the “quality” of ride when you switched over to 18’s or 19’s… or got a smaller tire… or both? I like the feel of the car in the stock setup, but I would prefer a much lower profile tire. I realize that doing that would affect the “stiffness” of the ride --- but is it a negligible feeling? Or do you practically lose your arse over every bump? Does the car still have the same handling feel?

I don’t (at least initially) plan on getting any springs or other work done outside of replacing the wheels and tires, so don’t take that into consideration when answering my question. I really dig the Mazdaspeed wheels, which are 18 x 7.5, and I’d probably go with 215/40-18 on the tires, although I think they recommend 215/45-18. I just think it looks a little sharper.

Thanks in advance.

Oh… and another thing… please excuse my ignorance!
