I autocrossed my car once with the stock 16's and once with Motegi mr7's, the offset went from 55mm to 42mm. While I like the aesthetic change pushing the wheels and tires in line with the body of the car as opposed to further in the well, I am not sure I did not mess with what the magazines say is a very good Mazda 6 suspension.
The first time I ran (note tires are the stock michelin's) the car seemed very tight with no understeer or oversteer and seemed to grip the turns much more, while the second time I ran with the motegi wheels and smaller offset the car had much more movement with the backend coming around on me MUCH more. I even spun the car 180 degrees. (fun) Any thoughts would be appreciated. Did this happen because of the new offset...the higher tire pressure (32 to 42) or just a more wide open course (more ways to get into trouble) I am going to ask this in the autocross section as well. Thanks. |

You posted this question twice, and I replied to the other one.
