I already know I will be losing some ride comfort with my switch from OEM 205/60/16
to 215/50/17, but what could I expect going from 215/50/17 to 225/45/17 ? Thanks for your help |

Overall tire size will change more with the 225 45 17 from 26.04 inches stock to 25.26 inches. In other words the 225/45 is 3/4" shorter. This can be important if clearance is an issue due to the drop. Also the 45 sidewall is shorter, obviously. Which means it should be a little stiffer ride, however I'm not sure you would be able to feel the difference.
Your speedometer would be off a little bit going to a 3/4" shorter tire, but not much. Too be honest, I don't see a downside in either tire or that much of a difference that would make one better than the other. The ride comfort would be better with the 215/50 but not that noticable I don't think. I guess it depends on what your goals are. |

205/60/16? is that what the 6i uses? huh, oh well, i am going to convert from 215/50/17 OEM to 225/45/17 because of selection, and not much differnence. With the skinnier tire, it will sag a big so making little of a difference. there is a thread on this
