Default wheel offset requirement = slim pickings

The more looking and searching I do the more frustrated I become. Time after time I find a wheel I like (one G-Racing wheel that I love) only to find the offset is 40mm or less. The few wheels I have found that offer higher offsets are all very pricey (5-Zigen for example).

Are there certain brands that have 45mm or higher offsets commonly available throughout their line? With standard size 17 tires will a 17x7 in 40mm offset definetely rub? (I don't want to do the fender roll thing).

The biggest selection I've come across is the Exel line from Wheelmax.com - lots of 17x7 in a +45 that are low priced. Be careful, though: a lot of people have had problems with Wheelmax - do a topic search on them to get the history (or pm me for advice if you find a set there you like.) I bought from them and had no problems at all, but it sounds like I'm the exception.

www.tirerack.com

They have 58 wheels that will fit the car, including the two I like which don't seem to be to the taste of others.

I like tirerack, but their selection is not all that good. They only carry a few lines that are reasonably affordable. I don't have a budget for $500 BBS, OS, or SSR rims. That leaves me with 4 other choices from them, 3 of which I have never heard of and have no idea of the quality.

I will say this, they at least know the car and won't lie to you when you call them on the phone. I'll buy from them for that reason alone, even though they don't have the wheel I like 2nd best, ADR M Sport Titanium on my Lapis Blue. First choice is the new Centerline Storm that weighs 14lbs and sells for $200, but it has a +42 offset.

I got tired of calling around and being told by wheel people that any 626 wheel will fit on the Mazda6. Eric at Tire Rack has a 6 and all the wheels on their site have been test fitted to his car. I just wish they had some other choices at more affordable prices.

What offset did you use 00000? I love the new Centerline Storms for my Lapis Blue, low weight and polished instead of chrome. However, they are a +42 offset and I want to put on 18's. Won't they stick to far out of the wheelwell? I don't think rolling the fender will help if the tire is out too far.

Does anybody think this will work? I would love to get those rims, but I'm afraid they will stick out too much. The 18 is a 7" width, not 7.5 like alot of them are, would that help any? Here is the link to the rims that are my first choice. That's why I haven't bought yet, I love these rims and keep hoping they will make a different offset.

Those are nice and I believe that they would fit as they're "7 wide, even w/ a +42 offset. If you run a 215 tire they shouldn't rub.
